[MR] Conflicts with Holiday Faire weekend

Well, I hadn't intended it to be a private reply, so thanks for
catching that. It was really a question in general about how things
work and how such a numerical problem could come about and how could
it be fixed. Purely intellectual curiosity, I don't want to open up
another can of worms, this one's wiggling quite enough!
