I am a member of Dun Carraig, the Barony which has reserved the weekend.  I 
am not completely knowledgable on this topic (I've only been a member a 
couple of months), but want to try to stop all of the yelling before it 
starts.  The weekend in question was not listed on any calendar as already 
taken, we needed a date for our event which had to be cancelled this year 
because all of the weekends were already reserved.  The site we wanted had 
this date available and, since it was open on the calendar, we reserved it. 
We were informed that we were able to get NC status for this event because 
it is in a different scheduling year.

I am sure this will be addressed in a more informed and formal manner in the 
near future.  Thank you to all who wait for the explaination before 
attacking DC.

A group in Atlantia has reserved the Holiday Faire weekend and will
not allow conflicting events, which means HF will have to find a new
site and a new date.  I'm wondering what other's reaction is to this.
.. I'm more than slightly peeved about the whole thing and will
likely boycott the conflicting event and may encourage others to do
the same.

FWIW, I'm not a member of either group and our booth is not something
we do to earn a living.  It just seems... tacky.

The Atlantia event page is http://acorn.atlantia.sca.org/calendar.php. The
Atlantia group in question is Dun Carraig. They have indeed pre-empted
Stierbach's Holiday Faire weekend on November 18th, which has always been
held the weekend before Thanksgiving. They appear to have other events
scheduled on February 25th and April 22nd. We shall notably and pointedly
avoid them and all other Dun Carraig events in the future until they learn
better manners.

BTW, we are not members of either group, but have supported and promoted
Stierbach for over five years now, and our booth *is* something we do to
make a living. We shall simply make a point of avoiding making a living in
their territory.

Is there any way to bring this to the attention of their Atlantean
Majesties?
