[MR] Pennsic updates from someone who's been there and back this weekend.

Gas prices at Breezewood were from $2.99 to $3.03 a gallon. $3.05 on
the turnpike itself. We paid $2.99 in Cranberry at Sheetz about 5
hours ago (when we left Pennsic to come home for the week).

There was little noticeable construction; the only traffic backup we
saw was on the way back because of two accidents (one caused by the
traffic back up from the other), the roads were in decent shape, and
the PA police were out in force looking for people trying to get to
their vacations. Or, maybe looking for the idiots who are flying
around them... not sure which, really.

The merchants are starting to set up though they can't open until
Tuesday. Chocolate milk is $1.75 a bottle. The bread bowl place has
raised the price of their breakfast boule to $8.00. !!!! They charged
$2.00 for a little 6" plate of hash browns that was barely covered.
Food court has always been more expensive than eating at home, but
breakfast should not be the most expensive meal of the day. Beast and
Boar's prices seem to be comparable to last year. The St John's
burger joint is open and their burger price seems to be the same as
last year ($4.50 or $7 with fries).

The medallions are a rotated square made out of stainless steel.
They're pretty heavy. The rumor has been going around that whoever
was in charge of the medallions ordered an extra 10000 or so for
him/herself and is planning to make armor out of them. The site
handbook says that the medallions are trying to bring in the
anachronism part of the sca... they had steel, which is period, but
it's stainless, which isn't. (Paraphrased).

The ground is not wet or swampy in the places we walked, other than
the bit of N22 that used to BE swamp and is now being drained to
expand camping in that region.

I think that's pretty much it. Oh, and one of the merchants has an ad
in the merchant guide that they're selling gambesons this year.
