try two:
I've often heard the "it is a post period title and should not be used"
argument. I don't buy it. Much of our award structure is not based on
any historical evidence what so ever, why pick on the GoA's?
Right now, in forms of address, there is nothing to distinguish an AoA
from a GoA, and that diminishes the accomplishments of those worthy
nobles who have achieved what our kingdom describes as an "Order of
High Merit"
I would encourage the use of HL or THL, or as Landi Haraldsson put
forward, Lord/Lady by Grant of Arms. A GoA is something to be rightly
proud of and the recipients should be entitled to a distinguishment of
address.
