OK, I appreciate all the comments, but let me add something here.  Having 
had to deal with this before, the proper course of action is to contact the 
credit card company and have THEM deal with the merchant directly.  If you 
don't file a claim, you have no legal ground.

You all seem to have good opinions of the guy, so I'm definitly willing to 
entertain the idea that it was an accident.
I just thought it'd be a good idea to warn people that this had happened, 
and that it MIGHT NOT be a fluke.  I thought I was doing a service to the 
Society.
I'll speak upon the topic no more, and simply let the our CC company deal 
with it.
