[MR] 5%--food for thought

I've been following the thread throught the archives (I'm set to no
mail for sanity's sake), and I believe all sides have valid points.

I do have a question however. If so few people are doing work and
helping out, how are so many people getting awards? A bare AoA is given
for contributing to the society and to local groups. Anything above
that, to the best of my knowledge, is also earned for a reason. There
must be something going on, even if those people aren't doing a couped
chicken imitation at every event.

Sincerely not trying to fan any flames or cause 5% vs. 95% more-heated
debate, just putting forth an idea for you to let your minds chew on a
little.
