Greetings, Atlantia!

Forwarding this on behalf of a friend in Calontir. I, unfortunately,
don't have the space...

Sister Merry Tarry here. A close friend of mine just learned this
evening that his sister in law passed away unexpectedly due to a
stroke. She and his brother lived in Suffolk, VA, where the funeral
will be held. At this point, if he goes it will be with myself and my
daughter accompanying to help him stay awake, as it's as long as a drive
as to Pennsic is for us- about 18 hours or more depending on hydraulic
onload and offload stops. The visitation is tomorrow- he doesn't expect
to make it to that, obviously, but the funeral is Friday. He's the
only person in his family who would be able to go (not including her
husband, his brother), as one sibling is a nurse and can't get off,
another lives (I think) in Hawaii and can't afford the plane tickets,
and his father is unable to fly due to medical restrictions. There is
a family member on the other side who could potentially put us up in
Raleigh NC, but that's still over 4 hours away from the funeral site
going the wrong direction for the second night. I'm wondering if
there's someone on any of these lists who would be able to offer crash
space (or knows someone who could) for three for 1 or two nights within
a more reasonable driving distance, or a more proper direction north and
west rather than farther south- Thursday after we've driven there, and
Friday after the funeral- I can't see driving straight back immediately
after- we'd be totally wasted. Smoking and allergies are not a
problem- none of us smoke, but we can deal with those who do, and we all
love critters. Sorry about the short notice, and I appreciate your
consideration, even though I fully realize that at this short notice no
one may be able to assist.

YIS,

Sister Merry Tarry
