[MR] Reminder: Northern Regional War Practice: Sunday June 26: now with COMBAT ARCHERY!

Greetings all valiant heavy fighters of Atlantia. I am pleased to
announce that the Barony of Dun Carraig will host a Northern Regional
Melee Practice on Sunday June 26th starting at 11am (the day after
Challenge of the Heart - so why not show up a day early and enjoy the
event?).

The simple plan for the day will be:
   11am - Noon: warm up with singles
   11am - Noon: Combat Archery authorizations
   Noon  - 3pm: Melees
   3pm - 4pm: Singles
   5pm: All must be off site.

This Northern Regional Practice will have COMBAT ARCHERY! So come
prepared with plenty of ammunition.

The melees will be based on the various scenarios for Pennsic and will
include open field as well as resurrection battles.


Directions:

Site Address - 9035 Ironsides Rd, Nanjemoy, MD 20662. Use Mapquest -
NOTE: One note from looking at the maps provided. AVOID using Durham
Church Rd - it is very narrow and very twisty, instead follow Rt 6 to Rt
425 Ironsides Rd. It is much quicker and only about two tenths of a mile
longer.

  >From the North - Take your best route to the southern side of the
Washington Beltway (I-495), then exit onto Rt 5 south toward Waldorf.
Just north of Waldorf Rt 301 will merge with Rt 5, follow Rt 301 South
through Waldorf to LaPlata. In LaPlata turn West (from the north it will
be Right) onto Rt 6. Drive 12 miles on Rt 6, turn left onto Rt 425,
Ironsides Rd, and follow for X miles. Melwood Retreat Center will be on
the Right.

  >From the South - Take your best route to I-95 just north of Richmond,
VA. Take Rt 207 East to Rt 301. Follow Rt 301 East across the Potomac
River and North to LaPlata. In LaPlata turn West (from the south it will
be Left) onto Rt 6. Drive 12 miles on Rt 6, turn left onto Rt 425,
Ironsides Rd, and follow for X miles. Melwood Retreat Center will be on
the Right.


The following  Northern Regional War Practice will be on Sunday July 10
as part of Storvik's Novice and Unbelt Tourney Event.
