True enough, but as canvas ages I've found that it begins to lose it's 
duck-like properties and requires a bit of help. Thompson's water seal isn't 
meant to be used on fabric and does some odd things to it, such as the funky 
yellow color change and that lingering odor..... We've been using Star Brite 
Marine Waterproofing for years. It works incredibly well and leaves no 
discoloration. The last couple of pavilions we made were sprayed when they 
were new for the added UV protection...
