[MR] A question on squiring

I have a question I have been seeking the answer to for a while but
can't yet seem to find it and I hope not to offend any if this is an
improper form of asking on the subject.
More of less I've been involved with the SCA for about 4 or 5 years
now but am starting to be able to get into it more than before, though
I have never received any regognition nor award would that prevent me
from squiring to a Knight in the eyes of the Peerage.
Ive never really fought very much so my skills are very small but I
would still like to become a squire to learn the art of fighting and
the tactics of it.
Yes I want to be a knight but I am not looking to squire for that one
reason, it is a goal to me but not an obsession. It is something to
work for and perhaps one year have earned the skills and respect to
earn that title but I go in the pursuit of skill and knowledge before.
Also how would one approach one about becoming a squire, as there are
few of the Knighthood here in my local area of Nottinghill Coill I
wouldn't know really how to go about it. I know I should find one that
I can get along with well and be able to be friendly with as it is a
long trip from there forth but even if I could find one that I
believed I could work well with and might would be accepting to take
me on how would I go about it. Ask or wait to be asked I guess is the
question.
Forgive me for the long post but just trying to word it right and I
hope that I do not offend any by asking this subject in the open. Feel
free to contact me off list at drakedawson at gmail.com
