Number One:

Gale Owen-Crocker just e-mailed me [not me, Ingvild, but someone on another
list' with the news that her new edition of
_Dress in Anglo-Saxon England_ has reached the publisher's warehouse. I'm
guessing, then, it should be shipping on schedule or earlier (the official
release date is Nov. 30).

You can see a list of the contents, and order a copy, here:

When it says "Revised and enlarged edition," that's an understatement.
Those of you who already know the first edition as *the* word in dress in
this period will be delighted by the wealth of new information --
including much archaeological evidence -- in this book.
[I have mine on order from Amazon with a discount, too. Ingvild]

Number Two:

Else Ostergard's "Woven into the Earth: Textiles from Norse Greenland"
(Aarhus: Aarhus University Press, 2004)

Totally awesome book! And you can get it at a discount right now (for a
total of around $40) from David Brown Book Company --

_David Brown Book Company: publisher and distributor of archaeology,
classics an_ (http://www.oxbowbooks.com/home.cfm?Location=DBBC&CT=1548222)

I will have my copy available for drooling over at Bright Hill's Textile
Arts Guild on Sunday.

Spiritual rejoicing. An entirely cerebral scintillation."
