A&S Competitions for Yule Revel in Storvik, January 1, 2005

The days are short, the nights long and cold, and Storvik will have its
Yule Revel!

There will be the traditional Best Period Dessert competition at Storvik's
Yule Revel on January 1st, with the winner determined by our gracious
Baroness. Documentation is always a plus, and does not have to be lengthy
- at least your list of ingredients and recipe.

A !NEW! Competition is also planned.  It has been noticed around the
Kingdom that various baronies are producing wonderful decorative wall
hangings. And like good Vikings, we should steal this idea and run with
it.

To this end, several blank canvases' as it were have been prepared.  These
are plain white poly/cotton trigger type banners 3 feet by 4 feet, with an
odd number of tabs.  For those who wish to participate, you can contact
our energetic and dedicated Minister of Arts and Sciences Kim of
Wolfshaven at  kim_wolfshavenscaATyahooDOTcom  for one of these, and
decorate it as you are inspired.  These blanks are being provided as your
wonderful work will be kept with the baronial holdings to be displayed at
Yule and future events to the glory of our Barony.  If you wish to use
your own materials of the same size, that is fine too.

These will be judged by a combination of populace vote and celebrity
judging. Please bring what inspired your design, and points are added for
themes appropriate to our Barony.  Remember that this doesn't have to be a
copy of anything.  A carving translated to paint works well.  Recombining
elements from several different works to tell your own story.  Be
