Generally I would agree with you on this. However; I must say that Lady
Brig's work is absolutely impeccable. beyond that, stunning. And for the
history mavens among you, I would never doubt the period quality of work
from a woman who spends Exurbanite amounts of time researching the finest
details of everything... and I mean EVERYTHING :)

Also, Lady Una makes some of the finest leather fencing doublets I have put
eyes too. which can from time to time be found on ebay.

In short, be wary if you wish. But both of these seamstresses are of the
highest quality and are just as highly recommended.

Please be very careful about purchasing garb from e-Bay, unless you have an
agreement that if it isn't satisfactory, you can return it. You just can't
tell enough about its construction, etc. by looking at a picture. One of my
friends purchased a garment through e-Bay, and when it arrived, it was
awful. It was all sewn with thread that didn't match the fabric, the
stitching was the longest available on a machine, it used lace that was out
of period, and worst of all, it had three ties to hold the bodice on...not
lacing, but actual ties, one at the top, one in the middle and one at the
bottom!!! I was horrified. The lady brought it to a sewing meeting and
asked us what to do. We advised her to send it back.
