he standard answer (and im not trying to jump in front of achbar) is
that a
novice is a fighter that is authorized two years or less in the
weapons form
they are entering the tourney with.  so if a fighter has been an
authorized
fighter fighting weapon and shield for 11 years and them authorized
dual
weapon last weekend they would be allowed to fight dual weapon.

  But, I have made it this Tournament even easier for all.   To fight
in Challenge of the Phoenix as a  " Novice" requires two years or less
as an authorized fighter.  Other than that, fight with what ever
weapon you enjoy.
   This Tournament is April 23-25.  Please come down and enjoy it.
There is a Southern Regional War Practice on Sunday April 25. Please
come down and fight with us.
