I have to heartily disagree with Kenna McKenna who indicated that she
believes that the solicitation of business through the Merry Rose is even
remotely on topic. I get enough spam email from people wanting to sell me
things to make me bigger, faster, stronger and higher already. I certainly
did not join the Merry Rose to get more. There is NOTHING that is
SCA-related about anyone plugging their business in this medium. My opinion
is that I would NEVER do business with someone who solicits in an
inappropriate channel like this, regardless of their membership in the
Society. There is an issue of honor at play here IMHO. It would be a great
idea to have the administrator of this list to make a pronouncement as to
what is and is not appropriate for this list. Personally, if it becomes a
channel for cheap advertising of anything other than SCA events, I will
remove myself form the list.
