[MR] Re: PDF Acorn

Mostly when the "No Electronic Distribution" at the time it was written meant open distribution to any one who wanted it via a website, as that is the typical method at the time. But has it ever been proposed to directly send the PDF version of the Acorn via email to those who *CHOOSE* to receive it that way? Basically instead of offering only two mailing methods, "US First Class" and "US Bulk/Standard", add a third "PDF via Email" at the same cost as the "US Bulk".

I have slow dial up at home but would still choose that method if it were offered. It would be a lower cost to the Society, and better service to the members.

This topic comes up every now and then. The usual response has been that in
order to add value to paid memberships, that electronically distributed
versions of the same material be delayed until the hard-copy acorn had been
  in-hand for some time.

Granted, I've been out of the loop on stuff like this for a while, my
attention has been elsewhere. Viewpoints of current kingdom officers may
vary from those that held the offices back during my stint as an officer.

It is interesting to hear of disciplines communcation strategies, Rozsa.
Siegfried point is still valid. The Kindgon Chronicler has all the letters
in electronic format. Why not post anything going in the Acorn onto some
public medium like Atlantia.SCA.ORG or this list perhaps a few days after
the deadline for submissions? Is anyone against the idea of posting the
letters publicly? I am studying Information Technology at ODU, so I find
the topic of information flow fascinating.
