Greetings Fellow Atlantians,
I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of the wonderful people
who came out to help waterbear at Coronation on Saturday. I had the
highest number of waterbearing volunteers ever (13) and some of them
were trying it for the first time. We had 5 baronies and 1 kingdom (An
Tir) represented and I think that's just great!! Everyone seemed to
have a good time helping out and, as far as I know, none of the
fighters, marshals, or populace went thirsty. Thank you all so much for
taking the time to help out and serve your kingdom....it's generous
people like you that allow others to have fun and stay healthy and who
make the SCA the wonderful place that it is. I look forward to seeing
and working with you all again....you're a great group of people!
Thank you, as well, to the good lady who dropped off an entire
bouquet of roses as a thank-you to the waterbearing staff. I wasn't at
Point when you dropped them off so I don't know who you are but thank
you for your kindness...I know it made all of the waterbearers feel
really good to have their hard work acknowledged. I also must thank
Their Royal Majesties for acknowledging and thanking the waterbearers in
court....I know that just thrilled some of the new waterbearers and made
us old-timers happy and proud, too.
In addition, I must also thank all of the kind people who appeared
out of the woodwork as I pulled up at site to help me unload all my
gear. I had managed to hurt my back last week and wasn't allowed to
lift anything over 5 lbs and, thanks to the kind and generous populace
of Atlantia who are so quick to come to the aid of another, I didn't
have to and so my doctor won't yell at me today. :-) All of you
reminded me of the main reason that I love the SCA so much - the fact
that we're like one big family and everyone works together to help out
their fellow SCAdians.
Finally, I must send a special thanks to Caitilin inghean Ui
Loaghaire and Lord Aeddan Ivor, who took a break from packing for their
move just to come out and help me with waterbearing (including supplying
their pavilion for use as Waterbearer's Point) and ensure that I didn't
lift anything I wasn't supposed to. Even though she wasn't feeling
well, Caitilin stayed throughout the day to help run Point and Aeddan
willingly lugged coolers back and forth to the lodge for refilling.
Without their assistance the level of organization and success we had
with waterbearing would not have been possible and I am forever in their
debt.
Again, thank you all so much for you assistance, generosity, and
thoughtfulness. If there is ever anything that I can do to help repay
you for your kindness please let me know.

Yours In Service,
Lady Cicilia Tironi
Barony of Lochmere
Northern Regional Kingdom Deputy for Waterbearing
Deputy Chatelaine

"Purpure, a schnecke issuant from dexter chief argent, in sinister chief
an estoile Or"
