According to Gartner Dataquest, 12.1 million personal digital assistants
(PDAs) were shipped worldwide last year, with 30% of purchases made by

The Need To Deliver Innovation
According to Peter Webster, MD of Rentokil Initial UK, speaking at
ISSA/Interclean last year, "There has been little true innovation in cleaning
processes for over 20 years. Customers are demanding change and we are simply
not delivering it. Manufacturers must start talking to end users about their
future needs and keep them up to date with changes and advances in technology."

That's exactly what Cleanfix have done with the Golden Assurance. Thanks to
their combined knowledge of both machine manufacturing and buying, Cleanfix
have come up with an industry first. After all, the cleaning industry has been
relatively slow in adoption of IT and web applications, until now. The

Time For Change
"Over the last few years, Cleanfix has become increasingly aware of the need
for more transparency and product care from machine manufacturers within the
cleaning industry, as well as the increasing need to monitor storewide assets,
streamline communication and enhance management control within the industry,"
says Cleanfix UK Director, Peter Suddaby. "So last year we decided to invest
in the Cleanfix Golden Assurance."

After spending two years at a large UK based contract cleaner, Peter Affleck
recognised the need for transparent, dispute free support system, this came in
the shape of the Cleanfix Golden Assurance - a unique tailor-made web
application for the support of Cleanfix products supplied to large, fast
working and highly populated companies in the UK.

Essentially the package is a mobile office with full communication facilities,
including phone, web access and e-mail. It enables an on-the-road manager to
communicate problems with head office, the supplier, the admin, the service
facility and the client, all with just one click of a button. The manager can
then view this communication in real time on a web application customised for
them.

Cleaning Manufacturers Giving Something Back
"The Cleanfix Golden Assurance is now up and running. It's a way for Cleanfix
as a leading manufacturer to give something with added value back to the
contractor," explains Peter. "A totally new outlook on the way forward for the
support of demanding supply within the cleaning industry. We thought it was
about time the machine manufacturer took full ownership of their products, so
we've worked on a new way to guarantee support."

Adds Pete Affleck, Sales Director for Cleanfix UK, "The existing situation
within the cleaning industry means that there is no real risk assessment and
not PAT testing by default. There's also no way of knowing how long a machine
will be out of service or how many times it has been serviced."

"The Golden Assurance provides users with a mobile way of monitoring growth
and enables them to access a central server, find the relevant store, report
faults and breakdowns, request or acknowledge orders or repairs and monitor
storewide assets - all in real time," explains Pete.

Embracing Technology: Brainstorming Workshops
The Cleanfix Golden Assurance is an online business application that allows
customer of Cleanfix to view all the documentation that supports the whole
account. And, with the help of web firms, WebCritique and Rocktime Ltd,
Cleanfix have ensured that the system is sophisticated enough to have the
capacity to manage its customers documents as well.

"We are also aware that the Golden Assurance system could be of greater use
than just tracking machines," adds Pete. "So we intend to run a series of
workshop seminars in May 2003 to 'brainstorm' with our customers, ways to
fully utilise the custom-built extranet and mobile communication system to our
customers advantage."

The Cleanfix Golden Assurance In A Nutshell
The Golden Assurance system enables customers to do all of the following in
real time from anywhere with a net connection:

View all relevant support documents and monitor asset lists and growth
Send different emails to a number of recipients, all of which are logged on a
