[MR] question about exciting soap recipes, rose oil and other floral oils

I've found a rather unusual book at Duke University
that isn't mentioned very often using Google or other
search engines.

I have a couple soapmakers checking recipes with me to
double check my translation. If I'm right I believe
I've found some of the first recipes which use scented
oils with soap - YEEHA!!! We're still double checking
that, though. I know it's only exciting to us soap
makers. <G>

What I also have found are recipes which teach you how
to make rose oil by infusion and a couple of other
floral oils by infusion. I haven't been able to read
a lot of cook books (only have about 5 medieval ones).

Are oils by infusion common knowledge? Do we have a
bunch of books that have documented recipes for oils
by infusion already?

Rebecca
