Just a little more information about how this money is used:  the
American Cancer Society uses the money both for research and for
education, particularly on the local level.  The way research grants
are awarded is that a Stakeholders' Committee votes on it...and this
committee is composed not only of scientists and doctors who are expert
in the field of oncology, but also of ordinary folks who have had
experience with cancer...
