[MR] Univ Directions: "Take your best route to I-81 ..."

Greetings and Salutations Good Gentles!

I am in Greensboro, NC.
I am planning my route to University this weekend.

Looking it up on maps.yahoo.com (aka - mapquest.com), it tells me to
take US-220 from Greensboro to Roanoke, Va and pickup I-81.

However, I see thats a long way on a little US highway.

I was considering going a bit out of my to Winston-Salem, take US-52
(i think) over to I-77 and take that to I-81. Its longer
mileage-wise, but it might be quicker, being mostly interstate and
all. Also, our vehicles are starving student expresses, might be
safer to stick to the main roads. maybe.

Any comments or suggestions welcome!
