If I may,

I believe the thing to keep in mind is that everyone has a limiting factor that is keeping us at the level at which we play. Be it time, money, ability, knowledge, or just space in your car, you probably have some factor that keeps you from being the 100% period you would be otherwise.

The trick is overcomming those obsitcles. Finding a frugal way you can afford, or getting the roof rack on your car, or taking some classes on building X (and I have seen classes on "how to make X" or "how to build Y"). We are a friendly society, ask questions. Help someone unload their small 2 door car and say "Hey, how did you get all this stuff in there? I bet you have a nifty way of dealing with a space issue here..." Or maybe you don't have the ability to make piece of stuff X, but you can make piece of stuff Y. Why not trade with someone who can do what you can't?

I must confess that I've probably been a bit lax in being as period as I can over the past few events. I have a couple of chairs of the nylon variety. However, never underestimate the power of a good cloak. One more use for it (when it's not being your jacket, pillow, bed rool, blanket, or ground cover) is to be a good chair cover. So, let's all take the 3 seconds to look around and say "is there something I have that's just sitting in my tent or car, that would help out here?" I think this trend that His Magesty and many others have noted would turn around if we could all do that.

In Service,
