[MR] News of my demise are greatly exaggerated

To all,
This is a blast email to inform everyone I'm doing better now.
I was injured at my neighbor's house on the 4th. Their college age
(25) son thought it would be cute to throw me in the pool when I said I do
NOT swim (by choice, wet, YCUK!). I left the conversation and went inside. I
heard a noise later and turned and there was Billy, he literally threw me
over his shoulder (had a bruise on my hipline from his shoulder) and because
he'd been drinking all day......promptly fell back. The only redeeming
quality is he said later I was lighter than he thought.
I fell and my temple hit the corner of the cabinet. Pain, swelling,
double-vision, naseau, the works. Well. We don't have insurance for us, so I
refused to go to the ER.
I was worrying friends up here with my sleeping (every couple hours
for 3-4 hours), headaches, naseau, inability to concentrate. Well, it
reached a climax monday when I found out I had a computer virus (it turned
off my anti-virus program!). While reformating my hard drive! , I screwed it
up and couldn't remember what I was doing. THAT is when I got scared and
drove myself to the ER.
10 hours and a CAT scan later, I have a severe concussion. Some
swelling on the brain (yes, there actually WAS something in there!), it is
going down; bruising, no bleeding. They said I had a "spider cyst"? What
ever that is, but it was there before.
They wanted to give me a shot of morphine, NOT! I did take the Motrin
800. I hadn't taken anything since thursday, not even my Celexa. They also
gave me a wonder drug, phenegin. Anti-naseau. WOW! I had been in peptual
state of 1st trimester naseau! BLAH! The left pupil is "lazy" but it IS
contracting, my right eye isn't as fuzzy as before so vision is clearing
there, AND my right eye isn't watering at bright lights nor flourecent
lights. It has it's moments of fuzzyness, but they clear-up for a bit, so I
guess that means I'm getting better. When this is done, l! ooks like I'm
going to have to FINALLY get my eyes checked. *sigh*
My headache is at a livable, constant dull ache, NO! I refuse to take
the vicadin. My naseau is controllable only if I don't read, sew, embroid,
or concentrate longer than 15-20 min. Writing this is getting me dizzy and
naseaus. My main concern is the long term effects. Doc said he didn't know,
"could be a week, a month or never." My inability to hold a thought for very
long or keep up the conversations scares me. But hopefully this is
temporary. What also scares me is my short-term memory seems to be affected
and I have trouble looking at an object and naming it. *sigh* Should get
better with time.
Well, just an update. Didn't want to alarm anyone, just let them know
what's up. Yes, I'm still driving even though I'm not supposed to, but
Andre'a has summer school and Chris is at his sister's for the next couple
of days for biz.
I have nothing on my computer. Would anyone who knows me and we've
spoken please email me with your info for my contact list? I am at a
complete loss and don't know how to replace everything. Our webminister,
Hugo Von Hoehl, has been kind enough to come over and help with the
archives. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Those who want to
call (540) 657-1363. Don't expect me to stay on long. I can't seem to right
now. But thank you for you're concern.
Love to all,
Soffya/ Jeanne
