Honestly? I think Avaloc is a bit of a prick, but that should not be the
basis in which to give someone the boot. Hell, we would be all out of people
if that was that case. However, the accusations of improper conduct with the
women is..well, inconclusive at best. I mean, the pure fact is that if he
did something illegal, he should be held accountable by the mundane
authorities first, BOD second. If Johnny Law is not gonna punish him, then
the SCA probably shouldn't.

If he is such an unchivalrous lout, than why is he still a Knight? ( No
smart comments please). Why was nothing in the lines of a Court of Chivalry
ever done? Yes, politics and blah blah can tie up a Kingdom, but not
forever..hell, not for very long at all. If his conduct was such that he
deserved an R&D, he would have had a long list of other punishments and
condemnations that had been levied by the local people and by his Kingdom. I
take it that is not the case?

It leads me to believe that there is something, or a number of things, that
are not being presented. I dunno if it is something that could be considered
liable, or something that they think would be painful to someone if it came
out.

Either way, it is impossible for me to make a conclusion without the
facts...which maybe all of two people on this list know.

An Tir Commission, anyone?

My two cents, for whatever they are worth.

Greetings all,

I was curious what those on this list think about the way that Revocation
and
Denial of Membership (R&D) is handled by the BoD. In the Jan 2002 meeting,
Count
(twice) Aveloc of AnTir was issued an R&D from the board. This R&D, if
nothing
else, has brought about a lot of discussion in NW concerning due process,
rights, and the power of the BoD and whether or not such drastic punishment
should have been handed down to Count Aveloc, aka Harvey Palmer. There is a
website provided by Count Aveloc and his lady, Countess Mahliqa at
http://scaoubliette.com/. There is also a petition to suggest to the BoD
that
they overturn this decision and make certain reformation in the way they
handle
things. This is being discussed on the AnTir lists, the Rialto and other
assorted lists, and I was wondering what Atlantians think.
