Actually if you wish to do business at an SCA event then the cost
of the event (site fee) is a part of doing business. All expenses
involved in your business become part of the price of your product.
To cost of travel if that is part of your business is an expense
that gets factored into the price. Look at the balance sheets for
most companies and you will see an amazing laundry list of
expenses that reduce the profit. There is gross profit and net
profit. If you wish to do business at some shows you have
to pay a site or booth fee. That comes out of your gross profit.
Gross profit being the difference in price between sale price
and materials cost. The X factor that has been mentioned
in several postings handles the various expenses that will
reduce your gross profit to net profit. The goal is to always
keep the net in the black.
Now what research have folks been working on?
