	Really? Where?

I don't see it listed in Corpora (copy as of Jan 2002), and
at least two kingdoms don't do so (the West has 4 month reigns, and
the Middle has (or at least had, when I was there) a 5/7 split
because Pennsic was felt to be so much work the royalty were given a
shorter reign to compensate.)

The six month reign is a widespread custom, but not something
written into the SCA's rules. A kingdom could, currently, have a
crown tourney every month, or once a year (more than that gets into
potential membership problems that I would expect the Soc. Sen. to
comment on when the Kingdom's law was filed.) Six months seems to be
a number that most people are comfortable with though.

Very few Board members have filled out their full term.

When the Board asked the membership for commentary on
election of Board members and/or the ability to remove Board members
there was reportedly little responce from the membership. (Something
I found a little annoying, given that I was part of the team that
worked to put together the proposal.)

Last, the Board of Directors is just that, a business group
charged with keeping the SCA, Inc. healthy. Terms of office shorter
than 2-3 years is impractical for such a body to function well (and,
it is sometimes argued, too short for some jobs the Board should be
doing.)
