[MR] Ansteorra treaty and Guld Wars.

While I am no longer in Atlantia, this matter is near
and dear to my heart as a former Atlantian resident
and current citizen of Ansteorra.

I reviewed the copy of this treaty as online in the
Book of Laws for Atlantia. 

I personally accompanied His Highness Duncan to the
Coronation of Their Royal Majesties Havordh and Mary
Grace. In travelling with His Highness, I know that
the treaty was foremost on his mind and the reason for
his visit. As Queen, Larissa wished to nurture the
strong bond between Ansteorra and Atlantia's rapier
communities at Pennsic and throughout Their reign.

In fact, as a citizen of Ansteorra, I was a member of
both Her Highness Larissa and Her Highness Mary
Grace's entourage for Gulf Wars.

I felt that I needed to respond, to show what high
regard Ansteorrans do hold their Atlantian friends.

It is also interesting to note that the treaty was
enacted by His Magesty
Galmr in AS XXVI (circa 1991). Not that I would dare
speak for His Magesty,
but perhaps he decided the treaty had become
ineffectual (at least to our
Kingdom). I for one can't recall the last time I saw
anyone wondering around
Atlantia claiming to be an Ambassador extraordinary or
plenipotentiary from
Ansteorra to the court of Their Royal Magesties (as
required by the treaty).

Of course...the best way to find the answer to this
and other extraordinary
questions would be to speak with the source Himself
(Galmr). For example, He
would also be the one to know with whom we will be
allied for Gulf Wars.

As to the power of a Kingdom Seneschal, the answer
generally depends on what
has been written down in Treaty, Law, and Corpora.
OTOH, the power of the
opinion of the Kingdom Seneschal is yet another
matter.

While visiting Ansteorra recently I was asked on which
side Atlantia
would fight in Gulf Wars. I responded that I
understood that there was a
treaty between the peoples of the two Kingdoms that we
would always
stand together. My hosts told me that our Kingdom
Seneschal had negated
that treaty.


1) Is it true that the Seneschal negated the treaty?

2) If so, I am surprised that the Seneschal has such
powers. I'd have
thought this a matter for the Monarchs. Can someone
explain to me in
short sentences where this power lies?

3) Which side WILL Atlantia fight on, and who makes
that decision?
