Having watched countless Crown lists over my 20 years with SCA, and having
participated in a few as consort, it is my humble opinion that single
elimination leaves to much to chance, rather than skill. One never knows
when a fighter might find that previously unseen mole hole, or have a strap
break, or something blown into his/her eyes. Having more than one go, evens
out 'chance'.
