[MR] Recruitment

Greetings,
The first thing I would suggest for recruiting new members is to hold
regularly scheduled activities in public spaces whenever possible. Places
such as Borders are community friendly, and quite often encourage groups to
meet in their cafe.
Fighter practices in public parks can be a boon to recruitment. We had a
fighter practice last Sunday at a local park and at least a dozen people
stopped by to ask questions. We believe we may have gained 1-2 new members!
*Check with your local park to make sure they do not have restrictions* I do
regret that we had no loaner equipment or SCA brochures on hand, but you can
bet we will THIS Sunday!
Publishing the regularly scheduled events in the community news section
of the local paper is usually free for not-for-profit organizations.
REMEMBER- You will not gain people if people cannot see you.
In service,
Livia
