I've wanted to get a hold of a copy of the Heliand as well. One
does wonder how well the early Germans and Scandinavians would've
reacted to a similarly presented Judaism. The Patriarchs weren't
above a little smiting when it needed to be done, and the
Northmen would've found the stories of Joshua, Judges, and the
other historical books in Nevi'im and Ketuvim (like Chronicles)
to their liking, I'd imagine.

I'd agree that eggs pop up wherever you find people, at least in
the Old World. I don't know if the American Indians had
domesticated turkeys, or if anyone even eats turkey eggs. Anyone
know more about this?
