To our Gentle Friends in Atlantia:

We, Bethoc and Duardo of Marinus, who have wandered the
foreign shores and braved the barbaric accents of the lands of
the Angles, Saxons, Scots, Gaels, and Cymri, do send you
greetings.

In our travels, we did enter a Viking City in the Irish lands,
and it was called Dublin. Therein, we came upon a mighty
edifice of knowledge, in which the young Erse were instructed
on many ancient philosophies, mathematics, and alchemies.
'Twas known as Trinity College.

Inside one of the buildings was a manuscript so valuable and so
sacred that it was encased in a glass shrine. Full many were
the rooms allotted just to tell the relic's story, and many
were the warriors necessary to guard it. Indeed, we did covet
the manuscript, but alas, never were the rooms empty of
guards, and we were unable to procure the manuscript.

Right glad were we to discover, then, that the whole of the
manuscript had been magically reproduced onto a disk smaller
than our hands, and that hundreds, nay, thousands of the
disk, "The Book of Kells CD," had been created!

We knew that many of you, our beloved friends, would desire to
own one of these disks, and we thus enquired of the purveyors
whether we might purchase some of the disks at a discount.
Great was their joy at seeing our enthusiasm, and happy were
they to sell them to us at a discount.

So we bought the disks, so we carried them across the wide and
dangerous ocean, and so we offer to sell them in turn to you,
our friends, for only $25.

(If you were to purchase the CD over the internet from
Trinity College, the cost would be $29.95 plus $6.79 postage
and packaging. Other places on the internet are selling the
CD's for 25 pounds plus 7 pounds shipping (approx. $50 total).
Ragnarok Press, here in the United States, is selling their own
version of a Book of Kells CD for $49, and it doesn't contain
original images, nor does it include all the pages of the
manuscript.)

If you would like to purchase one of the CD's, please reply
immediately to this message so we can reserve a copy for you.
We will deliver the CD's at Unevent - We'll be in the common room
definitely right after lunch until 2:30. I'll have a Book of Kells box
(gold, kind of fancy-looking) on the table next to me, and since I'm a
redhead, I should be easy to find. I hope.

Because of the prohibition against merchanting, I will be
unable to sell any CD's at Unevent - I can only receive
payment for and deliver CD's to those who have reserved
copies ahead of time. I will, however, be glad to start a
waiting list; it's possible that some people may decide not to
get their reserved CD's, and if so, it will be first come, first
served.

In order to allow as many people as possible a chance at
getting a CD, we're limiting the reservations to one per
family. We apologize if this inconveniences anyone.

There are only 5 copies left, so reserve your copy as soon as
you're sure you want one. Please do not call us; please reply
by email to bethoc at peoplepc.com.

-- Bethoc

FYI: This is a fundraising activity for the Barony of
Marinus. All profits (over and above Bethoc and Duardo's
purchase cost) will go to the Barony.
