Can't say that I spend money the same way, but I find my membership to be
worth every penny. Yeah, I have the $50 DSL bill and the $50 cell phone bill
(yeah yeah yeah.. it was for trips) and the $80 utility bill and the rent
bills. However, with the few events that I could afford to go to this year,
I've saved enough money to make whatever I pay for my membership worth it.
Shoot, what I pay for membership alone is well worth being allowed to go to
events where I can sing and not get things thrown at me then go tromp around
in armor without a single eyebrow raised. I'm happy to pay it.
*laughs* My DSL costs the same. From what I understood working with
Earthlink is that the phone company levies a charge to all third parties
wishing to 'rent' phone lines from them. Outside ISP's like Earthlink, MSN
and AOL barely make a profit over what the phone company charges, usually
setting their price for a few dollars more than the rental charge. Why does
Bellsouth have to charge about $50 for their own DSL? Because other
companies do it, they know they can. *grins* Its a racket, but go without it
and you soon learn it's not so easy to connect at a crawl.
Aaaanyway, remind me not to write email first thing in the morning again.
I'm talky.
Yours,
