I'm an idiot.  That would be EAST, not WEST.  :)

BTW, at one point, it was apparently heading directly toward Prince 
Frederick, home of our Baron and Baroness.  But then it angled southward and 
missed by a few miles.  I'm guessing that it knew better than to mess with 
Phillip and Kiri!  ;)
