Before people begin to get the impression that Atlantia has lost all sense of 
courtesy, let me just relate that at Sacred Stone's Baronial Birthday this 
weekend, I had to make several long trips from my cabin to the hall, my cabin 
to the parking lot, etc, for many reasons.  Carrying books for the heraldic 
consult table, carrying feast gear, carrying instruments and music for the 
bardic cirlce, and just many other things that we need in the SCA.  Each time 
I made such a trek, even if I was only carrying one or two items, I was asked 
at least once if I needed help.  Usually this person would be a stranger to 
me, and I was asked even if it was obvious that I was only carrying one small 
thing.

I haven't been to an event in a long time where I have recieved so many 
offers of assistance.  

As for the ladies who were not offered assistance, yes, someone probably 
should have noticed them and offered to help.  If I was one of the gentles 
who walked by and did not offer my services, I am sorry.  

But I don't want the many courteous people who did help out, and have helped 
out at countless events in the past, to be forgotten about when we discuss 
courtesy in this Kingdom.  For all of you, I say "Vivat!"
