My Lords and Ladies,

As I read the responses to the question of setting up a cafe I am slightly ashamed to think that our group has become so closed minded and hypocritical. Considering the fact that I have done Holiday Faire before not to mention Kingdom level events and have always enjoyed the fact that not everything has to be 100% period. As well as many of the people critizing have purchased not 100% period items from myself and other merchants such as t-shirts and hats and the such as gifts for others not just society members. As long as it is okay by the Autocrat and Crown, why are we having such a horrible issue with this? Remember we are not a Re-Enactment group but a re-creation group. This is something that the individual thought to do to make a more enjoyable day for others not to enter into a competition nor to display as an Art or Science.

That I know of, Her Excellency of Steirbach has not made a rule against pastries, chocolates or coffee, I know the precedent was not there when Baron Ivan and Baroness Rowan were there, nor do I think it is against the rules according to what the Autocrat has in mind. And above all else that I know of Their Majesties do not have rules against either. I will be one of the first to get a cup of coffee that morning from this individual if I'm going to make it through my day.

I would also like to remind people that this is a matter of courtesy now to be thought upon. One of the three staples of our Society the other two being Honor and Chivalry. Instead of giving a person grief for not doing something completely period publicly, if one wishes to give a suggestion or gentle education or concern over authenticity, then they should show the person its directed to the respect of saying something to them privately.

Respectively,
Lady Daniela Schwartzhaupt
Barony of Bright Hills
Haus Zverge Berge
