Greetings, all!

On October 13 and 14, Metro will be offering free fares on buses and
trains in Washington, DC, according to an article in today's Washington
Post
(http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A8309-2001Oct4.html)

If you're in the area (or will be on your way home from Kingdom
Crusades on Sunday afternoon), there are a bunch of interesting museum
exhibits in town that you might like to check out ...

"The Reader Revealed," at the Folger Shakespeare Library

"Virtue & Beauty: Leonardo's Ginevra de' Benci and Renaissance
Portraits of Women" at the National Gallery of Art
http://www.nga.gov/exhibitions/vbinfo.htm
(Their "Italian Cabinet Galleries" exhibit, at
http://www.nga.gov/collection/gallery/gg25/gg25-main1.html is still up)

Several interesting exhibits on Asian art at the Sackler & Freer
galleries, including "Real & Imagined Places in Japanese Art"
(http://www.asia.si.edu/exhibitions/realplaces.htm), "Dinner for Five:
Japanese Serving Dishes for Elegant Meals"
(http://www.asia.si.edu/exhibitions/dinner45.htm), and "The Cave as
Canvas: Hidden Images of Worship along the Silk Road"

World Treasures of the Library of Congress: "Beginnings"
