I for one would be hopelessly lost (not to mention likely more blind than a 
bat) without my titanium frame plastic lens glasses (ok, so I sat on one pair 
too many).  As I pointed out to one good soul, the fighters--and 
waterbearers--would be much worse off if the gatorade bottles, water coolers &
 plastic gallon jugs weren't allowed on the field.  We would lose quite a few 
waterbearers who simply couldn't lug around wooden barrels, & the various 
skins & other water containers would get awfully expensive for the use & 
abuse they would take.  

And I for one would not much care for the morning slop on the walkways & 
corpses scattered around our little 'towns' we create.  :)
