For many years I've favored a Norman heater - the shape is that
inverted teardrop. I't was used by the Russ/Slavs well through the
1600s. Round on top and bottom. Shoulder width at the max, measure top
of shoulder to top of knee point for height. Then again, I fight a lot
more open than most folks... so that shape lets me ignore any
distanced blows to that side. You have to be careful about closing
down and exposing the back of your head with this style.
