This sounds to me more like a case of the blue looking so dark as it might be
black. My wife has a dress like this. ;-) If she gets dressed in poor
lighting, she might find out later that day that she is wearing black shoes
with her blue dress.
Anyway, you are partially correct. The blue you use on your submission forms
should be recognizably blue. It shouldn't stray too far from the blue
spectrum. Think about what color a kindergardener would point to if you said
"blue." But the CoH would never, and could never, say "This is the only
shade of blue that is acceptable" just because of the infinite variations
involved. Your blue need not match my blue, and neither has to match Lord
Stickjock's blue. But all of them should be a very recognizable blue.
Of course, a good rule of thumb in any case is to make the submission forms
as simple as possible. Avoid over-stylizing. Avoid anything weird. Draw
your device simply, color it bold, stay in the lines. ;-)
