Greeting, Dear Friends, Herein follows the All New And Improved Flyer
for Mongol's Revenge, to be held in Caer Mear on 12 and 13 May, of this
year. Please note the changes as regards the feast and the fees.
Barkeep, a round for these good people!

May 12th and 13th-Mongol's Revenge
Barony of Caer Mear, Powhatan Virginia

To Arms!  To Arms!  Let all Knights and Squires; all Counts and Dukes;
and all fighters of every description rally to the defense of the Baron
of Caer Mear! Word has come from the Genghis Khan that unless Caer Mear

submit to the Khanate, it must be overrun! His Excellency has returned
a bold answer, but without great support, disaster must ensue. The
conflict will take place in several battle scenarios, with enough
fighting to satisfy anyone. In addition, this will be the first battle
event of the season. What an opportunity to hone your combat skills!
So come all Normans, Celts, Germans, Frenchmen and anyone else whose
sympathies lie with the West, and stand with Baron Balynar to resist the

advances of the East. However, if your sympathies lie with the East,
then come and stand for the Khan. Either way, come to this event for a
rousing good time!

Activities: We will have challenges for archers, including some never
before seen in Atlantia (perhaps). Dame Margaret Cameron will provide a

tourney for fighters of the rapier. Non-combatants are encouraged to
bring their ongoing projects for the interest and pleasure of their
peers. Please bring your knowledge and share it with us. Children will

be amused by their parents, as there will be no organized childrens'
activities. A Genghis Khan look-alike contest will be held for the
entertainment of all. Attitude and Entourage are assets to the
successful competitor. AshaHito and Lady Aithne will be the judges, so
bring your best bribes, as they are known to be susceptible.

Feasting at Mongol's Revenge: The Desert Wind Dance Troupe will
entertain at the feast. And what a feast it will be! There will be two

meat courses, several sauces, several vegetables, breads, fruits, sweets
and who know what else. All of these things will be prepared by Lord
AshaHito, Baron Werhener
and the Bavarian Gnomes. Due to the exquisite nature of this feast, no
reservations will be accepted after 4 May 2001. None will be available
at the door. So reserve early and often.

Merchants: Merchants are welcome. Space in the hall is very limited,
but some covered and much open space exists right outside the hall.
There is no fee for merchant activities, but please contact Master Finnr

Grimulfsson (James Howell 804-598-4658 or finnr at caermear.org), to
coordinate space.

Site: Mongol's Revenge will take place at the Powhatan County
Fairgrounds, in Powhatan Virginia. Site opens at 10:00 AM on Saturday
and closes at noon on Sunday. Camping will be available on Saturday
night and a bardic circle and bonfire are expected. The site is
discretely wet (wine and beer only; no original containers, pack out
your empties). Come set your pavilion around the Battlefield and stay
the night with us. Mundane tenting is allowed, but we ask that they be
set up on the second line.

Reservations: Please send all reservations to the Autocrat, Lady Aithne

Macdonald (Susan Willet) at 240 Northfield Lane, Richmond, Va, 23236.
Any questions or concerns may be sent to her at
aithnemacdonald at hotmail.com. Phone before 9:00 PM is (804) 323-0124.

Directions:
>From the North: Make your best way to I95, just north of Richmond,
Virginia. Just before you get to the City, take the exit to I64/US76
and bear left onto US76 (Powhite Parkway). Cross the Rivah, pass the
toll booth ($0.50) and exit at Courthouse Road, North (toward US60).

>From the South: Make your best way to I95, just north of Chester, Va.
Just north of Chester, take the exit for US288 (to Chesterfield).
Follow US288 until it joins US76 (Powhite Parkway), just north of
US360. Take the first exit (Courthouse Road) and, at the light at the
end of the ramp, turn left onto Courthouse Road (north, toward US60).

All: Proceed up Couthouse Road approximately 3 miles to the SIXTH
traffic light. This is US60, aka Midlothian Turnpike. Turn left (west)

at this light. Proceed 18.3 miles out US60 to Powhatan County Fair
Grounds. These Fair Grounds will appear on your right at 18.3 miles
from the intersection at US60 and Courthouse Road. If you come to a
traffic light at US522, you have gone 0.7 miles too far and should turn
here to come back. If US60 becomes two lanes, you have gone 1.3 miles
too far and should turn around and come back (but not where the road
narrows, as the Authorities have designated that as "No "U" Turn).
There will be ample signage for the directionally impaired.
