Greetings to the Merry Rose from Findlaech mac Alasdair, Editor of The Oak.
A brief note to those who will be attending the Kingdom A&S Festival in the
Barony of Black Diamond, where I will be conducting office hours for The
Oak, the A&S newsletter for the Kingdom of Atlantia.
As always, we are in need of articles, artwork, and poetry. For those who
are developing displays, documentation, handouts, etc., I ask that you
consider adapting your labors for an article. The subject need not be a
masterwork or dissertation; Oak articles tend to be short and focus on
practical skills or historical research applicable to medieval arts and
sciences. If you have a topic but you're not comfortable in your writing
skills, I would be very happy to work with you to develop the material.
I will also be (as always) groveling for funds. We're planning a
fundraising event for the Atlantian XX Year Celebration and will need the
aid of artisans and organizers (more on that soon).
If you would like more information about The Oak, I've put up a temporary
and unofficial website at:
http://www.his.com/~tom/sca/oak/oak.html
Over the next few months we'll be working to develop an official website
with writer's guidelines, permission forms, a schedule of fundraisers, etc.
I would also like to thank all the generous folks who contributed to The
Oak at our last Atlantian University. A total of $53 was donated, a useful
sum indeed.
Your obedient servant,
Fin
