Springwater Fiber Workshop, a non-profit fiber arts school, located in 
Alexandria VA, is offering the following workshop that I thought might 
interest some of you.

"Handspindles for Guys"
Sylvia DeMar

Ancient Vikings used to bring handspindles with them on their longboats to 
make threads to repair the sails.  Learn how to use this tool to make threads 
that can later be used to make cordage, even rope!

Tuition:  $30 (non-associates, $33)
1 session, 1-4 pm
