Fred (co-owner of Cooper's lake, keeper of the database, and all around cool
guy) took numbers for the approx. 200 Coopers staff (which includes the food
staff) from the highest number working down. They printed 13,999 medalions.
We kept asking Fred what he was going to do when we ran out of badges and he
just kept saying it wouldn't happen.
Fred has been keeping the data since they have been keeping data and he is
in the best position to be able to ananlyse the trends. He was confident
that we would not break 13,000 and we didn't. Nia believes though that if
the weather had not been so un-Godly hot the first week we would have had
many more people than we did.
While many people were estamating that we were going to have up to 28% more
people this year the numbers didn't show that. What we did have was many
more people come for both weeks. So people were coming sooner and staying
longer than previous years. The people trolling in from say Tuesday of war
week on was a trickle of what they expected.
We did set many records the first week. The most people in the first week,
the most people in an hour, the most people in a 2 hour shift and the most
people ever. On one 2 hour shift we processed one person every 18 seconds!
Once you worked that shift the rest of the war was nothing.
