Greetings,
Pennsic Archery Range will be open for populace archery practice beginning on Wednesday, 8/2 through Friday, 8/4 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. These times are open to all. War Point practice will also be held on Sunday, 8/6 from 2-3:00 p.m. Then again Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9-11:00 a.m during War Week. Range is closed on Wednesday, 8/9 for the Archery Champions Shoot.
War Points will be shoot on the following days and times:
Sunday, 8/6 - 3-5:00 p.m.Monday, 8/7 - 11-5:00 p.m.Tuesday, 8/8 - 11-5:00 p.m.Thursday, 8/9 - 11-5:00 p.m.Friday, 8/10 - 9:00 a.m-1:00 p.m.
We will be shooting the same three war point stations as last year. They are:
Castle Clout Shoot:
○ The target is a simulated castle turret. ○ 27 ft x 27 ft square set 100 yards from the line. ○ There will be a moat monster protecting the castle in front at about 50 yards.
Advancing Soldier Shoot: Targets set at 15 yards, 35 yards, 45 yards, and 55 yards.
Castle Window Shoot:
○ Target is an object inside the castle window. ○ Castle window will be set between 25 and 35 yards. ○ The Castle Window will be at least 8 inches wide by 36 inches tall.
Anyone may shoot any or all of these stations up to five times. Multiple individuals may share a bow; however, it must be inspected with each user to ensure safety. Total number of points earned by archers will be tallied daily for each shoot and posted in the marshal tent.
I know there are no war points given out this year but we will know our totals so we will know who won. For this reason, please go up and shot your war point. If you can only make it up to the range one day. Please shoot what you can. Ever little bit will help. Even if it is only one point. It is more than we would have if you didn't shoot. In fact, if you are looking for a way help your Kingdom at War. This is it. Every point you earn adds to the total and could be the difference. Wars have been won or lost by the populace shoots. Please go up, shoot and most importantly have fun.
If you wish to read more about archery war points click on this URL: Battlefield Schedule - The Pennsic War . There are also a number of archery classes being taught on the range. Please check the Pennsic University Schedules for dates and times.
Hope to see you on the range.
In Service,
Miles de LocwodeDeputy Earl Marshal for Target ArcheryKingdom of Atlantia
