[Archers] Never played D&D.... :-/

Imagine that... a social context in which one is embarrassed for never having played D&D.  I have zero familiarity with the game, making designing a target or ...err.... claiming my monster (???) difficult.  
Would someone like to partner with me in target design?  If someone would like to make two targets as a team, rather than one target all by their lonesome, please let me know on or off list.
