Jay,

I sorry but did I miss a memo here somewhere. When has there been a requirement for two marshals to be present for scoring RR. Neither the RR rules posted on the web site or the new handbook state this as a requirement. I don't remember any discussion of this on the list and I can't voice my disagreement with this rule strongly enough. Our Society is based on honor and to put this rule out there smacks that right in the face. Honor is something you have or you don't. It is not something you can work on. I agree with having a witness present for the any round turned in (though that is more for appearance) but any archer around for more than 15 minutes is smart enough to know how to score. We don't need another full marshal around to watch. Besides most rounds are scored by the archer so if they are going to fudge a score a second marshal isn't going to stop it. Or are only marshal to score the target and only after can an archer approach and pull their arrows.

Can someone please explain this to me? Have we all of a sudden had a rash of cheating going on? I don't see it in the scores. We should stick with what it saids in the handbook: one marshal and a witness.

Sorry if my tone seems harsh but I find this to be wrong on so many levels. I have watch other Kingdoms go down similar roads and drive their programs right into the ground. I fully trust in the honor of my Brothers and Sisters of the Bow.

Respectfully,

Miles

P.S. There is a conflict between the handbook and the official rules posted on the web site. The handbook says RR can only by done at a OFFICIAL practice or event. The rules on the web site say anytime and anywhere as long as there is an Atlantian marshal present to score. They also conflict on who has to be present. The rules say a marshal can score themselves where the handbook calls for a marshal and a witness.
