[Archers] rat shoot

I would advise nothing closer than 10 yards for safety reasons.

I've seen several rat shoots and for some reason (because the way they are made or because they are ground targets, or maybe both) I have seen arrows bounce off and back in the direction of the shooter. No close calls yet, but I prefer paranoia over regret. As does the Earl Marshal, I'm sure ;)

Atlantian Archery. Nothing exists within 100 yards without our permission.

My two cents for interest and variety:

What distance - a variety of distances dependent upon coming at the archers, running away from of running across the shooting line
What size rat - Allen made his out of foam footballs wrapped with tape.  Good size as each rat can take more than one hit
How many - how many can you make?  The more the more fun!
First arrow pin rat - if it does, good on the archer.  If not, keep shooting.  Archers should be able to continue shooting a pinned rat but maybe only score multiples IF they have hit another rat as well.
Rats and ropes - one for each would make it so much more interesting.  That way you could have some coming at , moving away, and going crosswise to the archers.  Of course that means more help to run the shoot, but the archers would love you for it (or hate you depending upon their score :-)  )

I like this idea!
