Lorelei, congrats and a big thanks to you again for changing your plans to
make this happen even after all of the uncertainty! It warms our hearts up
in the North to see that nothing weather wise will stop us crazy archers!

In Service,

Janyn

Friends of the bow,

We had 26 people show up for archery at YMIR, in the snow and cold. Vivat!
You are brave souls. We had two competitions, one for a prize, and one for
bragging rights. It was an exciting shoot-out between Mors, Esperanza and
Karl, but Karl was the victor after a one-on-one tie breaker against Mors.
Karl took home the YMIR Boar's Tooth prize necklace, that he is expected to
bring back to YMIR next year, to pass on to the winner.

I believe he received recognition and a prize in court as well. I was not
able to stay for court.

The second competition was to shoot Karl's Cheetoes off the top of the
target. (It's always amazing how much better the shooting is when food is
involved.)

The range was graced by a visit from Her Majesty, who thanked everyone for
attending and supporting archery, and also by her Highness who came to watch
the shooting for a while, and give a personal thank you to those who were
new to the SCA or new to archery.

A good time was had by all. Except maybe that guy who showed up bare
chested. I think he was a bit cold.

The archery field at the YMIR site is really HUGE, and has lots of
potential. I highly recommend using this site for archery events.

Cheers!

Lorelei
