[Archers] REALLY BIG X-bow Bolt

Good Gentles,

I did some hands on measurement of a crossbow bolt point that I purchased in England a while back. It weighs around 3/4 of an ounce, has a shaft diameter opening of 19/32" and is 2 3/4 inches long. It was longer but has obviously hit something and has been blunted a bit. As Siegfried points out, it's a lot of energy. Even if it does not penetrate your armor, you are going to know you've been hit

Not only that cog, but a 3/4" thick (or 1" thick crossbow bolt, as I
have seen). Made of Ash or similar heavy wood, versus our modern 5/16"
birch or cedar ...

Means that you have a LOT more mass behind that projectile. A lot more
stopping power.

It's shooting a 45 magnum versus a .22
