Thank you all for the support. Help is just as important as making and
bringing targets. So far I am seeing all of the same help once again. I
would really like to see some of our others in the community stepping up to
support this shoot if need be!

If it should happen that Atlantians retain the St Sebastian's shoot, I will
again be there in support!

Good evening everyone, as we now enter into November (wow where the heck did
this year go?), I wanted to get the pulse of how you the Atlantian Archery
community is feeling about the St. Sebastian's shoot going forward. Before I
contact Lord Godric to find out if the East or Mid are even thinking about
running it, I wanted to find out how you all are feeling about possibly
running it again next year. Now before we go down the path of "absolutely
yes or what are you thinking?" I want to make a few points very clear. I
have already talked with a lot of you and heard comments like "it is one of
the only reasons I want to go to Pennsic," or "it is really the only real
fun I have in martial activities at Pennsic," etc.. That is all fine and
well but I also understand and have talked with quite a few of the regulars
that have given up a good part of their vacations to put this shoot on the
last 2 years. So before I even offer for Atlantia to think about hosting the
shoot again ,I would like to hear your thoughts. I will be very blunt and
open and state that I think it is time for some of our marshal's and archers
who have not helped over the last 2 years to contribute targets and marshal
the event. I perfectly understand if some of our contributors from the last
2 years want to take a year off, they have well deserved that! But, at the
same time we cannot pull off this shoot if we don't have enough target
stations and marshals to run it.

We have tried 2 approaches so far with scheduling for the shoot and I think
I have come up with a 3rd that would ease the numbers we would need. If we
are thinking about 12-14 stations again, I was thinking that if we had a
marshal per station for a 4 hour morning shift, and then they switch with
relief to take the afternoon 4 shift, this would cut the number of needed
marshals down to 28 or so which is about the number of volunteers we get
each year. BUT! This would need to be a majority of folks that have not
stepped up to help over the last 2 years. I'm sure some of you will offer
again such as I, but I would like to see some new faces contributing to what
has become a real staple of Pennsic now! I would offer to organize it again
this year but would also like to see a volunteer to be MIC for the event
next year.

So again, before I contact Godric, what are your thoughts about next year?
Please remember just saying "yes" won't be enough, we will need to backup
your offers with help!

In Service,

Janyn
